Getting Back Together and a SHOW

A blog is not a living thing, and yet it seems to take on a life of its own. Pehaps it exists in parallel to our own reality, perhaps separate, perhaps dependent upon it, I really don’t know for sure.

But I do know that recently I have had a strong urge to return to writing this blog and yet at the same time, have a sense of,  as I remarked to a friend this morning — and to borrow from Taylor Swift’s delightfully ear-wormy and poppy hit — “We are never ever ever ever getting back together!!!!”

And yet. I promised by art buddies I would help promote our upcoming show, so here I am on a chilly but bright Saturday morning in Pasasdena, thinking about ways I can do that.

There are countless recommendations on how to market and promote a show or performance, but the main point is to get the word out, often and a lot, and start early. (If you are a creative person trying to show and sell work, consider this a HOT TIP.)

(And no, it does not feel comfortable for me.)(But, I promised!) And for whatever reason it feels easier on behalf of a group, rather than just for my own work. (Perhaps it is true there is courage in numbers or the combined energy of the crowd or the peer pressure is really getting to me?!?)

Therefore: Some of my recent paintings are included in the upcoming CSA-LA “Winter Pulse” group show (Armory Center for the Arts, Pasadena, CA. December 1 2012 through January 13th 2013!) and I am sincerely wishing yall would come see it.

There is an opening reception planned for December first from 2 to 4 in the afternoon, if you are a reception-goer. So consider yourself invited. LOL

That’s it for now. More later.
